Yare 3 status 19

It has been 2 weeks since I wrote the last status. The companies replied and all responses were negative. Not only that I have no job but I caught a bad cold as well. Might be Covid? who knows. I can't believe it has been more than a month now and still, my life is going nowhere.

Meanwhile, I went to other interviews and I am waiting for other replies.

Anyway, as I worked more and more with the newer technology, this as well, seems to be going nowhere as I got stuck... again and again.

I feel like I need to apologies in advance as I believe that the chances of releasing Yare 3 this year have gotten pretty slim.

im sorry to hear that, about the job interviews.

but dont worry, you will make it, my friend!
just stay strong and focus on getting a quick job/a cheap accomodation for yourself...

as for the problems with the new technology of the game, i think that you've aimed too high for the new project...

you should try for a more simple approach to the game.
think simple.

in yare 3, instead of making complicated things, just do things like yare 2, but with a twist:

add more 3D characters to fatten up.

a centaur girl, a spider girl, a few monster girls, a werewolf girl, a minotaur girl, an orc girl, a fox girl, etc etc

just use 1 room/environment for each girl like in the character select options of yare 2, keep things simple, and you will be able to make a successful game.
do that, and you will manage to do a very good game.

complicated plans often lead to more difficulties, so if you will keep the game simple, it will be good.

yes, I'm glad you mentioned anthropomorphic characters as I plan to make a game that will feature exactly that in an medieval set. This is why I want to keep Yare 3 free of it. But that's for the future.

There is no way for a simple project, not any longer. The story that will complete all 3 games together is already written, more than 20 pages of dialogue. I did this summer.

The reason I'd like to use newer technologies is because, apart from better graphics and overall render quality, those might open up the path to virtual reality and stable games. But there are, like I said, downsides to it. So I was just toying with it in my spare time. But like you concluded, I should quit fooling around and do actual work. 15-20 minutes a day would get me far, probably. Fortune rewards those who are consistent, right?

indeed.

either way, ii wish you the best of luck in your projects, as i like your ideas and your potential for making good games...

thanks a lot! making a game is like building a house. Have you seen 1 person doing it? not really. But I still try. Programming, Game design, Story writing, 3D Modeling, Texturing, Animating, Sounds. There's a lot going on. Trust me. And takes a lot of time. Learning everything takes time and then doing it. Oh boy. This industry is the one in which people get the most overworked.

thats very true, game-making is very hard to do, and it requires many skills: coding, design, proper testing, etc etc...

keep it up, and i will be happy to see what you have next...
